Fortnight? That's like, two weeks, isn't it? Awr, poo. I'm so bored, and I want to read moar Astro Boy stories- there aren't enough of these already! And some of the good ones go unfinished, like this one really great crossover that hasn't seen an update in nearly two years (that's another thing, there's not enough of those out there, either).

I've pretty much got nothing but free time. I do not have this "life" of which many people speak of, and which writers say gets in the way of their writing (y'know, besides writer's block).

Um, I'm not sure what a "beta reader" is or does, but I've read that they can be helpful. And they probably do stuff like proofread, spell check, grammar and editing and stuff like that. I'd volunteer, but as it is now, I can't...

I PM'ed someone on the site who listed himself/herself as a beta reader, but never heard back. Well my two daughters are home from college now and the one who is an English major has given me some help. It still may not be perfect, but I think I've caught 98% of the errors instead of say 80% this time....

Unfortunately, I stumbled upon "Growing Pains" a long while ago. Too bad the author never wrote any more stories in the same vein as this one...

@Penguin: Your chapters are always so short. (not as short as Dan's have been getting, though- not yet, anyway...) Why not update whenever you're good and ready? I can understand not wanting to post too soon after an update. But maybe you can work out a schedule in that sort of eventuality: say, update once a week, on Mondays, or whatever works for you; and if you have surplus chapters, wait a bit and update again on Friday or somesuch. Unless you feel that the next chapter won't be ready on time, then go back to waiting for Mondays. (The extra updates would probably work best if you produced quite a bit of extra chapters; this way they can be released on schedule while you continue to write.)

Of course, that might be a bit excessive, especially considering that you were planning on three every two weeks, anyway (although the scheduling would be kind of wonky with that plan), and it wouldn't leave much time for planning your other stories in the mean time- or, you know, life. Hmmm...

I just felt that I had reached a good stopping point that's all. I don't expect to have another ready till the weekend, so maybe it might end up being twice weekly. One thing for sure I'm being more critical in proof reading. I'm trying to be at about 2500 to 3500 words per chapter.
