Now that I think of it, you're right! I remember Shunsaku even dumped Kenichi off in the middle of the burning lab, losing him, finding him in Zone 1, then losing him again for 1/5 the movie.
I ought to make a new one with "...how he got a single thing done in 'Metropolis'".

If you mean he should've been in Ducktales, he was. Donald was in the navy, which is why his nephews had to live with Scrooge.
