Thank you, Jeffbert.

I haven't drawn anything good this year yet. But today I tried to clean up this sketch from last year the best I could with my non-dominant hand. From what I recall, that day I drew this I was playing with the idea of Uran having less robotic hair, but not like the Pluto design, then added Astro to this one for fun.

A drawing done with my non-dominant (left) hand in late December.

Here's another (unrelated) drawing from September animating itself. I was unsure about some things when drawing, which is why things change, like the bridge going up or the width expanding (background sketch was less wide). It's fan art of a French movie.

Wow it's really cool to see how you went from the first lines to the final result! :w00t:

Very impressive that you can do as well with your less experienced hand! :D

Heya Satus,

Just got a chance to catch up from page one to here. Really nice work. :) I dig that you used Flash 'cutout' styled animation to create the walk cycle of Astro and Uran too. I've contemplated something similar. Nice work! Cheers! :)

Hello.

I'm glad you like my works. The cut out style is needed for the process of "tweening", but I have been trying to cut back on using it in favour of more natural movement. It can look very much like a puppet with stiff movement, if not done with much thought ahead of time. Although when done right it has a very eye pleasing result, in my opinion. However I'd still like to use tweening for rough animations as a guide for the final finished animation results.

I'd like to do a complete animation with voice acting included someday, but my problem is "what do I want to animate that is at least longer than 2 minutes?" I have made many short animations in the past, this being one of them. I am always thinking, "what can I do that requires no voices?" For this "Silver's failure" animation, I focused only on the idea of his powers not working, and nothing else. :)

Voices might open me up to new animation possibilities, but for now I am stuck with mickey-mousing or silent animation. Lip-syncing would be an interesting experience however. I do like to voice comicbook dialog sometimes, but I am not any good to actually use it for animation. (And I have no voice range. I can only do one voice: Mine.)

Thank you.

As nice as those pictures are, it is off topic. The subject of this thread is "Satus' fan art", or my fan art. It would be misleading if the content of the thread didn't match it's title. If you'd like to show your own art, feel free to start your own thread in Fan Creations. It will be more on topic, plus more people will find and/or see your art this way. :)

About new stuff: Recently I have almost nothing. Most of my drawings this year are illustrated responses to roleplays on Tegaki E (the English website by Tewi).

I guess I do have some things, but nothing finished or polished.

Here's a Cobalt. I tried to make it look like the 2003 style, but imitating styles is hard to do with my non-dominant hand.

I have been rewriting my "Uran's theme" dub lyrics.
Maybe I am but a tomboy. But my smile is so innocent.
Uranium. Uranium. - Hey you, I am the real one here.
I'm more charming than a rose. I'm more fresh than the wind.
Uranium. - Hey, you are the fake twin around, remember there's only one me.
But even Astro can't tell us apart.
However to me, it's so obvious.
We are much like 2 angels, Uranium.
Surely I am the one and only Uran.

They need some tweaking, but this is the current draft. This version of the lyrics is based on the argument version of the theme, which has a few differences from the version that appears in the ending sequence.

I still need to edit my dub lyrics for the regular version as well. I love to sing Japanese songs in English, but writing a good dub to work with is hard. I'd sing them more often if I could.

Whoa, I wasn't expecting this post to get so long. I'll stop there.
But on another note, I'd like to animate something new. I just need to decide what...

Oh same here! I can't even stand my own voice on a voice mailbox welcome message! :p

What is mickey-mousing animation? I was thinking that perhaps you could use a device to change your voice, it must exist, otherwise perhaps other people would enjoy to give it a try.

I've removed the off topic post BTW. ;)

Thank you, Astro Forever and Avatargirl. :)

To Astro Forver: You kinda can change voices with software. For example, I sometimes make myself sound like a male by using Audacity to edit my voice. I recently used that software when I was voice acting a Astro Boy (Himekawa) chapter for fun, to make Atom sound more different than the voice Uran had.

Mickey-mousing is like an animation narrated and moved along by music instead of words.

Wiktionary:
The event of using a technique to synchronize actions on screen with the accompanying music.

Oh, thanks for removing the post.
