Hey gang. I guess this'll be my unofficial-official fanart thread. xD

Just wanted to share my progress on my latest 3D model. It's of a character you may or may not have heard of before. I think his name is "Astroboy," or something like that. I'm not sure.

This model is based on the character design from the 1980's show. The modeling is pretty much done, but there's still plenty to do including his coloring, textures, facial expressions, and full body poses. He also still needs his rocket boots and arm cannons. xD

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this fanart, and thread. I plan to follow up with updates, so feel free to subscribe to it if you're interested. Also feel free to offer suggestions and comments!

And, I almost forgot to give a big old thank you to Astro Forever for all of his/her help, including the model sheets. Cheers. :cool:

This is pretty cool, though you're right. I have never heard of this "Astroboy" you speak of. It's still nice anyways!

I also love the way you have incorporated your real name into your user name, very creative! :astro:

THAT IS AWESOME!!! I've been after my husband to do this for the longest time!! What program did you use (He uses Lightwave)?

I have blender on my computer. But I never use it, I might post something if I figure out how to use it.

This an awesome model. I love how it looks. Thanks for sharing and be sure to post anything else you add to it.

blender is free and open but has a dozy of a learning cerv lol

Will he be in OBJ format by any chance? I've been looking for a good Astroboy mesh for quite some time now. :w00t:
