One day at a future Theme Park ....

Tezuka Productions never went commercial the way Disney did. There never was a "Osmau Tezuka World" theme park. But what if there WAS? ...

A rather short fan day dream of mine ....

I felt the acceleration as my feet left the ground and I was lifted skyward. The ground dropped further and further below me, and a sudden fear of acrophobia swept though me for a second. I gradually realized I was in control of myself, and I was able to change direction, zooming upward or diving downwards on my command. I flew around the top of a tall building trying to peer into the windows. This was great!

I flew past a supersonic jetliner and waved to the passengers peering out of the windows at me. I flew lower and sailed past a high speed train that was transporting passengers between two major cities. Oh the great freedom of flight!

Up ahead of me a huge column of smoke was rising. A building was on fire. I flew toward a water tower and getting under it, I lifted it into the air and carried it over to the flames to pour its contents. After extinguishing the flames I brought the tower back and set it down.

Up ahead of me, the snow covered peak of Mt. Sophia loomed. I dove downward toward the base of the mountain and smashed my way into it. I furiously dug into the rocky soil, pushing the debris behind me while propelling myself upward though the earth with my rockets. After a few minutes I broke out at the peak of the mountain, flying out of it like lava out of a volcano.

This was fantastic! I performed a few somersaults and barrel rolls though the air before flying back to my starting point and landing. As my feet touched the ground the world around me dissolved. A door opened and the operator entered to unstrap me from the harness. I stepped out of the chamber. The line for the ride stretched out for what seemed like miles. I had waited over two hours for my few minutes in the simulation. The “ride” was a flight simulator that whirled the occupant around while a 360 degree projection appeared around him. Puffs of air blowing in competed the simulation.

“How'd you like that?”, a short Asian boy now standing in line asked me. He was wearing a baseball cap over his almost shaven head, and had a pair of thick eye glasses sitting on the bridge of his nose.

“That was amazing,” I told him “I almost felt I was :astro: for a few minutes.”

“Yeah, I can't wait” the boy said gazing at the long queue he was now standing in.

.....Ya think Tezuka Productions could out do Disney? If only .........

YES, of COURSE THEY COULD FREAKING OUTDO DISNEYLAND, definetely!

I like Disney but I'm much more fond of the classics than the stuff they make nowadays, except for a few good new ones. ;)

They could outdo Disney WORLD!!
I went there over Christmas break this year, and I gotta say the only good "ride" there was the Haunted Mansion.
(But I was only taken to Magic Kingdom, so I don't know how good other rides were in other parts of Disney, but oh wellz~)

Well UA has a simulator for "Back to the Future", and they had an "ET" ride. But could you just imagine an :astro: simulator that would let you fly around like him?

Yeah, there would be a line longer than the one at 'Space Mountain' for that one!

BTW, there is a roller coaster at 'Busch Gardens' that sorta hangs you in your 'seat' standing up and it does Aerobatic maneuvers like the 'Blue Angels'. Add a little 'virtual reality' optical trickery and you got it!

I remember going to a county fair around here over the summer last year. It was fun and I even remember a hanglider ride and I was putting one arm up in the air and saying "I'm Astro boy!". I also remember a ride there that was in the form of a UFO and when you walked in, it had some sort of operating tables or something on it and you had to stay on them. (For safety, of course) and it was supposed to feel like you were riding a UFO. God, it felt soo weird and almost felt like your skin was falling off. Of course, I was dizzy when I got out.

Anyways, A Tezuka amusement park would be soo rad.
