Why don't they? There's nothing wrong with anime. Ever tried showing them some Tezuka anime? If you show them some of Tezuka's works (Probably shouldn't show them Astro boy, cause they would think nothing of it.) like Black Jack or Phoenix, then the thoughts may change. Tezuka's works show the meaning of life and importance of the world and its environment. Why would someone not support it?

My mother, on the other hand, I asked a simple question once asking "Can I have a Black Jack shirt?" one day and she simply said "Sure. Which Picture of him do you want on it? I'll make it for you." I thought "Wow. I didn't think that it could be any easier than this."

It was the same with the Astro boy gba game and T-shirt. I just simply asked for them. She said we'll see, and look, I got them for x-mas as christmas gifts.

Beg your parents, or just get money and buy stuff on your own if possible. (That's what I would do if my parents didn't support anime.)

I wish it were that simple. :(
My parents are very stubborn, and whenever I bring up anime, they start bad-talking about it and say "you should quit being obsessed with that dumb crap."
My brother is always making fun of Astro Boy and other animes I watch.

I'm so jealous of other anime-fans: their parents aren't as mean and stupid as mine are.

It's okay. It will all work out. Maybe you will have much more freedom in the near future. :)

Yep. Why'd they even hate anime anyway? Though I do admit lots of anime have a pretty bad story, bad artwork and draw ladies' bodies in a yucky way.

Is it because anime is Japanese?
I joined this forum in late 2013 when I was 15 going on 16. Ignore my oldest posts, they embarrass me so much that I've considered permanantly leaving the forum more than once. I've grown out of my fangirling phase over Black Jack, Atom and Uran ages ago but the memories still embarrass me at times... Though, I try to be more open-minded about it and accept it as an "interesting stage of my life". :tezuka:

Oh well, at least you can talk about your interests here with us. My dad was never a big liker of Japanese animation either. ;)
