I beleive the name 'Pipi' is for the male version, but 'Pipiko' is the female version's name. We will need to wait for the English-language versions of the Tezuka website to be made public. However, even then, I do not believe I saw as many character profiles onb the JLV pages as were on the T@W.

Fixed! Thanks for the info: I watched Triton of the Sea when I was 9, and I don't remember the exact names.
The things I remember are Triton holding up his dagger and screaming "BOOOREAAAAL", that Pipi(ko)'s stepfather was a bad-news but kind walrus, those four dolphins (the white one, the average one, the one with the glasses (an Osamu Tezuka caricature?) and the one which had a conch on his head, the opening song and very few more.
