In case you haven't notice, Strange Wings, your Astro octuplets were the beginning of a new trend here, for me at least! ;) So now we had the lightsaber trend, we have the self copy/recursive image, I wonder what will be next! :P

I've already found a new pic, just in case I win this game again! :wahah:

I'm feeling honoured about being a trendsetter :P .

Your versions sure would deserve to be nominated, I was ROFL as I spotted the good Doctor playing Monopoly on the floor :D . Too bad you can't win this time since it was you who posted the original screenshot longing for some alternation  .
BTW, your last attempt reminds me at a traditional russian wooden puppet called "Matrioshka":

That would be a further great PR for the Tezuka market - one Dr. Elefun within the other.
I wonder if there's an Astro toy around which is already featuring this russian style B) .

Anyway, here's a very simple attempt:
Image
Dr. Elefun: "Have you reached yet the other side of the world, Astro?"

Astro: "Bonjour, je m'apelle Astro et..., ooh cela est la Tour Eiffel, n'est-ce pas? Ben, plus petite que j'ai imaginé...."

Dr. Elefun (thinking): If that's the other side of the world, then I'm a direct descendant of Bruce Lee...

It's not that I want to win so badly anyway, but watching episodes in the hopes of finding a good pic for this game isn't nearly as entertaining as watching an episode for fun while paying a little bit attention in case I'd see a good frame, which is what just happened (I'm not done yet with watching the episodes from the Madman DVDs). :) A few rounds ago I had to post a pic and I didn't have any ready, and it felt like wanting to park your car, but not having change for the parking meter. <_< So better be ready just in case...

Anyway, usually I think I tend to get better ideas for others' pics. :) I love the challenge! :D

Oh yes! :) In French, they are called "Russian dolls" (poupées russes). I can totally see Elefun as one! :P

Anyway, here's a very simple attempt:

Dr. Elefun: [b]"Have you reached yet the other side of the world, Astro?"

Astro: "Bonjour, je m'apelle Astro et..., ooh cela est la Tour Eiffel, n'est-ce pas? Ben, plus petite que j'ai imaginé...."

 I didn't expect something like this!

Actually, there were two episodes in the 60s that featured robotic versions of Ochanomizu. Robotty was about miniature robots trying to build their own little world right in the middle of the ministry of science, complete with their own miniature versions of many prominant characters. There was also an episode called Parting Gift, in which aliens left behind robots that not only perfomed the labor of their masters, but also began morphing into replicas of them, and eventually trying to forcefully replace them. There was also an actor, whether robot or not, I do not know, who portrayed Ochanomizu in Confusion at the shooting studio (see thread). But, anyway in Robotty, the full-sized people were trying to persuade the minis to move somewhere else. No arguments worked, but when the minis saw that a mini version of themselves mini minis was attempting to build its own world in their miniature ministry of science, no further arguments were needed.

Edited & added links to these new threads:

Parting Gift, Episode 124

Episode 173, Robotty

How retro can you get? Using a standard version of the game instead of a Star Wars version or some other themed version really is out of date.

 I used Google Images and was just looking for a good pic of a Monopoly board... Actually, it was a themed version... I erased the Southtampton Version from the board, but you can still see the buildings!

Okay, I managed to find other pictures with regular Google. I hope you will be satisfied! :P

(It took me more time to find lands name than to create the pic... )

Lord of the Rings version:

I'll let you or somebody else find a quote! ;)

I also thought this version would have somewhat matched with Astroboy, even though I don't know this series (very much Simpsons looking, though)...

Thank you, jeffbert! :) The few B&W episodes I watched must not have been the best ones, because almost every time I hear somebody describe an episode, it sounds very interesting!

Oh, that's a good idea! Not to be confused with Higeoyaji though, as I first thought...
