Dream Theater's newest album. Listened to it for the first time last night, and was thoroughly impressed. Very diverse album. Upon first impression, I gave this album 9 out of 10. Great album from start to finish.

Truly an awesome cover! I think I enjoy the music as much as I enjoy the booklet's artwork. To me, the visual aspect has always been an integrated part of a record, and DT really has a good hand in choosing the appropriate artwork to their musical themes. Their preferred style of art is somewhat reminiscent to Pink Floyd's, at least in my book.

Black Sabbath isn't quite my area, although I do recognize the pioneering work they did for 'our preferred kind of noise'.
My fave tracks of them would be "Paranoid", "War Pigs" and "Disturbing The Priest".

Kansas - Leftoverture

A further classic in progressive rock! This album displays Steve Walsh and Kerry Livgren in their prime. Songs like "Carry On Wayward Son" and "Miracles Out Of Nowhere" just cannot get any better!

Mark Knopfler - The Ragpicker's Dream

Released back in september 2002, I picked it up at the same time when my rediscovery of Astroboy took place. What a great time I had back then! It always manages to take me back to that time when I listen to it. Fave tracks: "Why Aye Man", "Hill Farmer's Blues", "Marbletown" and "You Don't Know You're Born".

I haven't added a cover in a while, and since soundtracks also count, I might add a lot of Georges Delerue and Nino Rota stuff later. But for now.

From what I heard of the film I wouldn't be a fan of it (not really a fan of slasher films), but the soundtrack is awesome. (Markos being my favorite song from it)
I would upload the cover of the album I have, but it displays a ridiculous amount of blood.

Brian May - Back To The Light

The first solo effort from the Queen guitarist. It never has lost a bit of its magic, even to this day!

Messiah Force - The Last Day

The only album ever released from Messiah Force, a speed/power metal band with female vocals from Quebec, Canada. This band has long since broken up, but this 1987 album is one of the best classic metal albums out there.

Freddie Mercury - Mr. Bad Guy

Great 80's synth pop, and boy what a stellar voice! Freddie truly was a versatile artist in every area. RIP!

I love Master of Puppets, especially The Think That Should Not Be, though I personally prefer Ride the Lightning. Here's another great Metallica album:

I read an interview with Jason Newsted around the time his solo album came out where he said that the reason his bass can't be heard on this album is less because they were hazing him as the new guy and more because his bass was interfering with the low end of Hetfield's guitar. Wish I could find the link.

Interesting, I didn't know that. Thus far, I belonged to the majority who believed that Jason's bass had been turned down deliberately by the other band members, as a way of compensating their frustration stemming from the loss of Cliff Burton. Listening to the production of 'Justice..', it totally makes sense. I've never been too much fond of the album because of the 'dry' production, though I liked most of the songs.

Queen II

A jewel in guitar orchestration! You would think that they used a lot of synthesizers, but Brian May created each sound and harmony with his home-made guitar! Nothing compares to Freddie Mercury's unearthly voice! Each track is a gem.
