RPG-The Hoshie Files; Have we met before?

I don't think that would be such a good idea astrogirl. I understand that we started this RPG with Skunk, but now it's really focused on Astro and his relation to the Tenma family. So really, there's no place for her.

Have you read the previous posts, Astrogirl500, just to get an idea of where we were in the story at this time? Skunk is not really a main character, in fact we haven't had him since the beginning. He may eventually come back in the story, but it would be an abrupt development if he were to jump in the story in the middle of the curent scene with a girlfriend.

Also, please keep in mind that we play all the characters at the same time. It's not a traditional RP where everyone plays one (or more) specific characters, so even if Skunk is back in the action, you'll logically have to play the other characters, too.

That's alright, you didn't know. I'm actually thinking of ways to bring Skunk back into the picture, but I just don't know when it will come. So hang tight for now.

Anyway, let's resume. Shall we?

Astro notices that Hoshie is in tears now

A; Oh I'm sorry Hoshie. I'll stop asking now, I promise.

H; No it's alright. Just keep going.

A; But-

H; It's okay, really.

She gives him a sweet, albeit sad smile. Astro is uneasy watching this, but he realizes that she is giving him the offer, and he shouldn't refuse

A; So, Tobio died in a traffic accident?

O; Yes. And after that, Tenma was never quite the same.

[Astro Forever]

Hoshie: Oh, he was always introverted, you know... he always had all these ideas, and nothing else seemed to matter. Or almost. But I know he loved me, and he loved Tobio. And then he loved you, too, but of course, you couldn't be another Tobio. I must admit I wasn't fond of you in the beginning, but you were really special... Then one day he came back from the ministry alone, and I understood I would never see you again. I'm happy to see you again, but I fear what Tenma will do now.

Astro: So he was the man behind the robot the other day, right?

O'Shay: Yes Astro, I think you should be very careful, Tenma has obviously big plans for you.

Astro: Why don't you just arrest him?

O'Shay: Good question, I guess we don't have any proof yet...

H; True. Besides, I'd rather talk to Tarou-chan before we arrest him or the like.

A; But why?

H; Well...I'd like to know what his reasons are; I want to know what's he planning, what he's thinking.

O; Still Hoshie, that would be a dangerous gamble.

H; I don't think so.

O; What? But-

H; I may not agree with what Tarou-chan is doing...But I know he won't hurt me, he could never bring himself to do it.

(Astro just stares at her with concern, before he takes his hand into her own. This surprises Hoshie)

A; Hoshie...Promise me you'll be careful, okay.

(Hoshie is genuinely quite shocked by this, but eventually a smile forms on her face)

H; Thank you Astro, I'll try.

(Astro smiles. Little do they know that Tenma is watching them through his robot dog just outside the window)

T; Well, it seems as if you and I have the idea Hoshie...

(Later that night, Hoshie is walking into her house. She looks very tired, but at least she has a smile on her face)

Off-Screen; Good evening Hoshie.

(Hoshie jumps upon hearing that voice. Of course, she turns on the lights to find Tenma sitting in the living room, much to her surprise)

H; Well, you certainly made yourself comfortable.

[Astro Forever]

Tenma: Why shouldn't I? Didn't you want to meet me?

Hoshie: Of course, this had to be at your convenience. You haven't changed much...

Hoshie regretted saying that last sentence. She didn't mean to confront Tenma in a harsh manner, so she changed tone.

Hoshie: Oh well, we have more interesting things to discuss...

Tenma: We certainly do!

Hoshie: With whom are you working these days?

Tenma: I certainly have help, but of course I've surrounded myself with robots.

Hoshie: Of course. And what level have you reached now? What have you achieved with them?

T; A lot actually...In fact, I recently built a robot scientist.

H; What? What's you're logic going into that?

T; Quite simple; I plan to continue testing Astro, in order to ensure he keeps getting stronger. But not even I can keep doing that forever, for I have my limitations. And then I realized something; if I too have limitations, then creating a robot scientist would allow me to oversee even greater advances in Astro's evolution.

H; Are you sure your robot is even capable of such things.

T; I should think so, I did download my own memories and intellect into his electronic brain.

(Hoshie becomes shocked one she hears this)

T; Is something wrong?

H; Oh, nothing!

( Silence overtakes the room for a bit, or at least until Hoshie begins to speak)

H; So you're really going to keep testing Astro like this, aren't you?

[Astro Forever]

Tenma: Yes, I see a bright future for him and for the world, and I need to get him ready to face the challenge!

Hoshie: A bright future for him or for you?

Tenma: Wouldn't you be proud of him?

Hoshie: I am already proud of him, I don't wish him to become something else.

Tenma: Such a narrow view... You are not exploring, trying to go further! Are you happy with the state of the world right now?

Hoshie: No, a lot of things could improve, but I don't think Astro can solve that, nor can a single person.

Tenma: That's where you are wrong!

Hoshie: You can't impose your views on anyone.

Tenma: Just watch me, or rather Astro...
