Positive Astro Boy Reviews and Secrets

Postby Alittleacorn » 15 years ago

I found these months ago but I though it right to show you, because they’re just so darn awesome! Really a good read! :3

Astro Boy: Subversive Awesome Flying-Root Action

These are done by Charlie Jane Anders who writes a deep analyze of the movie; that it literally feels like reading a documentary on paper. On first above, Charlie talks in-depth about Astro’s humanity and the details on the movie plot, also admitting President Stone gives us eye-bleeds. o_-;
The Secrets of Astro Boy’s Floating Robot City

Charlie’s interview with the writer/director David Bowers, and two designs for the film. Discusses how they came up with the ideas for the robots, how the Peacekeeper fights was purposely done to resemble an old fashion Japanese monster fight. It even talks about the design of Metro City and how Trashcan was originally a trash compactor but had to be changed because the similarities to Wall-E.

I'm actually happy to read something that looks at the movie in a good light, even if it's not faithful to the manga or animes entirely I personally will always wuv it. :blush:

Edit: Also those Astro pics in the links are HD! *_*

Thanks so much for these! I still just love that movie (except for the political junk). It's so well-done, heartfelt and fun. AND under-appreciated. I intend to keep the drum banging for this film and urge anyone I can to give it a try. Those people who have listened and watched all love it, and that's sooooo satisfying. :)

hi- agree the movie was not appreciated enough- i love it myself- still wonder why movies that made a heck of less sense made money while ASTRO BOY didn't. Maybe i think too unlogically female- but still love the movie so much- i also cry when i seen start of star trek movie- cry when i see something sad
