Now if this content was indeed published in an older book, whose copyright may have lapsed, as some members assume, and the same exact content is currently under copyright in these booklets, how must we deal with this?
If The Right Stuf owned the copyright to the older book, then I must assume that it has the right to reprint that content verbatim in a newer publication, with a copyright notice thereon. Although no date appears on the notice on the booklets, & ownership is that of Tezuka Prod., etc, we must conclude that such content is indeed under current copyright.
In regards to future posting of such content, I maintain that short quotes posted in the context of a discussion involving their content should be ok, as long as the publication data, ie., source, etc is cited with the quote itself.
Example:
blah, blah, etc, Fred Ladd's book says "[quoted text]" & name the book somewhere within the post, as I myself routinely do. Also, it would help to provide a link to a page that sells the book, such as Amazon, etc.
Now, should I edit those posts & remove the content?
