The Blue Knight: Friend or Foe?

Postby Androids101 » 14 years ago

Well, this is interesting since the majority of Astro Boy sites refer to the Blue Knight is a villain, ignoring the fact that he battled alongside Astro.

Should the Blue Knight be a friend that simply has different views when compared to Astro? I mean, he grew up in a area where robots fight each other merely to entertain the humans - and he has to repair them? It's pretty hard not of develop a hatred of humans when you're in his position.

Or is he just an enemy Astro would have to destroy?

I think that the blue knight is an enemy because if he made the world a better place for robots, then the world might not be a good place for humans anymore.

Yes, it's the best when humans and robots can live in harmony.

The fact that he wanted to kill humans instead of forgiving and making them change for the better makes him a villain. Just like the best for Astro to do was not to destroy him, but make him understand he was doing the wrong thing.

The fact that he hates humans would seem to make him a villain. Of course his backstory as shown in the 2003 anime is qiute different from his original persona first shown in the Shonen manga series. In that one Atom and he fought side by side because of the imprisonment of Atom's parents who were deemed to be "evil" because they were what were considered "Blue Knight" type robots. Or maybe he is a good guy who is forced to do bad things due to his circumstances!

I  :astro: :)

But remember his earlier life, where he had to see robots fight each other for entertainment by humans. But I won't be voting for him and get destroyed...
