Could Astro have abandonment issues?

Yeah, I wouldn't expect Astro to hate everyone. Just be afraid of losing his loved ones. Afraid that the ones he loves would suddenly stop loving him the way Tenma did

At the end of the manga story, it doesn't show Astro going back home, do you think he went back home?

astro was loved, tossed then loved again, atlas was used and abused from the start.

so it is not surprising how astro is a good guy and atlas is so mad at the world.

You have a good point. Atlas did get love from Livian in the 1980 series, but not as much as Astro. However, the little he got seems to have been enough to eventually cause him to change his mind.
