I was making comparisons and misread what was being said in the summaries, one that I heard a long time ago, and the one below.

Although the idea of "replacing" is still there, but not a clone. But from what I know about the 2009 movie, and even the 2003 series mostly from the manga, Astro and Toby or Tobio end up with different characteristics. Even physically. There was even a really good thread with people sharing their take on how similar Astro was to Astor/Toby/Tobio.
I'd link it but now I'm in a rush after writing this post so I can't look for it.
