I've literally seen like a minute of that. It was beyond terrible. I'm sorry. I know the technology was not amazing back then, but the actor. Oh, Lord, the actor. He started flying, and I could not tell if he was mad, sad, or just had to use the bathroom.
But back on topic.

I think a Pluto movie in anime style (not 3d models) would be wonderful! 3d is great, but sometimes 2d just makes it so much better. Of course, you need to find the right people and company to work on it. It could be either absolutely wonderful or absolutely horrid. Or just "eh". It really all depends on who makes it...
But it needs to be in 2d animation.

Personally, if we ever get a Pluto movie, I'd rather have it be 2-D than 3-D.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate CG. Both Pixar and Dreamworks have shown that you can do a lot with them medium, but the fact that traditional has been ostracized in the western market because CG is the rave these days just kind of bothers me, especially since Japan is still pumping out traditional animated products like no ones business. But really, who am I to judge the business tactics of Hollywood?

Personally, if a Pluto movie did come into fruition, I would prefer for it to be maybe a series of three or four films. Part of the problem is that Pluto (and Urasawa's work on the whole) is too complex to be told in one film. It'd either have to be a series of films, or a min-series in order to work within the boundaries of a fairly faithful adaptation.

That's a good idea.

Urasawa's Monster was animated and it was very well done and it kept his distinctive style that is so revered.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4ja7dwx4zE This is an example of Monster, please ignore the song as I could not find just a simple clip of the show on youtube in the short time that I looked.

This was animated some time ago, nine years in fact, and in that time the quality of animation has advanced. I think Pluto animated in 2D with carefully crafted CG effects would not be too hard to imagine. Or that difficult.

True. Let's just hope that if it ever happens, that the CG is integrated properly.
