I was just watching the second part of Bander book on Anime Sols.
At 6:55 into it, after the a drunk robot blows up, Tezuka shows up followed by Astro crossing himself (So THAT'S where that Avatar came from!)

IT was FUNNY!

OMG it gets better. Alfred Hitchcock is in this as well as the ID monster from Forbidden Planet!


I looked more closely at the scene with Astro.
Higeoyaji Ban is a bartender at an establishment that is right out of Star Wars. A robot is given a drink laced with oil and he then smokes a cigarette laced with gunpowder and blows up. Astro is standing next to Higeoyaji and watches him cross himself after seeing the robot explode. Astro then copies the gesture (doing it cross-eyed!).

Wow sounds amazing still gotta check it out i was hoping i would get it from Animesols so i could watch it then ...... but i just gotta see all the 24 hour specials soon i only saw marine express bagi and Prime rose so far.

Oh wow, thanks for sharing! I've watched this perhaps 7 years ago. I mostly remember how weird the story was and never paid attention to those details, but if I can watch it again, I will definitely look for them!
