Lol. By goody two shoes do you mean compassionate and works with children? I thought he looked pretty kick arse (During Sultan's introduction)when he first busts those two robots away (with the children watching in the background) and then at near-invisible speed cuts the robot behind him in two with an awesome 180 degree supa-doopa-ninja-robot move.

Even the Sultan warns Bruton 'But don't let his manner fool you - he is one of the fiercest fighting robots I've ever seen'

I wasn't claiming he couldn't kick butt: in all of the versions, he's the closest to defeating Pluto. HOWEVER: in the manga, he actually considers "cheating" to defeat Pluto by getting Pluto to try to rescue an underwater Astroboy in underwater quicksand. When Pluto starts to sink, Epsilon seriously considers letting him drown before rescuing pluto at the last second. I think this adds depth to the character I don't see in any of his (or her in the most recent anime (at least USA), make of that what you will) other adaptions, including Pluto.[/QUOTE]

I just dont get the same vibe from 2003's version as I do from the manga and 80's version. I personally consider 2003's Epsilon absolutely and utterley different from Photar.

Actually out of ALL the fights, I consider this to be the order of 'Closeness' to one of them defeating Bruton (Excluding Astro):

1. BORA (Durrr)
2. BRONDO (Practically took him out with him)

Then it gets a bit blurier. Ill base it on the level of damage I think was dealt to Bruton

3.) PHOTAR - Sorry but flying at supersonic speed HEADFIRST into the ground after being hit by Photon energy has got to be painful

4.) HERCULES (That flying head-butt and clenched fist has GOTTA hurt! Had to make sure I married those words up correctly - Clenched Butt and Flying Fist doesnt work)

5.) ZIRON (Combination of magnetic beams, flying punches and getting toppled on his arse)

6.) Mt BLANC (Only because - and Im sorry Molnar lovers - but Molnar didnt accomplish a single thing - At least Mt Blanc whacked him a bit with his axe - and I suppose the 'every action causes an equal yet opposite reaction' applies when Bruton rams headfirst into him)

7.) MOLNAR - Nuff said

Yeah, you're probably right about brondo. I just felt that epsilon had no sign of losing until saving the poor child messed things up. I'd still argue that, in the origional manga, Epsilon was closer at defeating pluto because pluto was sinking and would have died if Epsilon had not saved him vs Brondo who had no power to affect Pluto after sacrificing himself. If Brondo had the chance to stop astroboy from saving pluto, then I'd say he was the closest.

Awesome analysis Darth. I'll usually side with anyone who says good things about my namesake :)

I've seen pluto before, but never read it. Is it worth reading?

Also, I want it to become an anime movie from Japan first, before the U.S. puts they're live action hands all over it.

Another thread I've seen a long time ago, but didn't bother to reply until now. lol.

I think so, but it depends on one's tastes. Pluto takes the GREATEST ROBOT story, & moves its emphasis from Atom to Gesicht, the German detective robot. It gives him & Pluto's other victims histories, lives, loves, etc. Atom does not even appear until about 1/2 way through it. I found it very intense, & well worth the $.
