It is not an uncommon practice however. Some of he most popular dubbed anime in the west is badly edited. Shows that spring to mind are Battle of the Planets / G-Force / Eagle Riders (all verious incarations of Gatchaman), Robotech (A butcherd amalgamation of three different shows, Marcoss, Mospadea, Southern Cross), Sailor Moon (which was an edited version of only the first two series of the show which went for 5 seasons), Cardcaptors (Cardcaptor Sakura), as wel as countless other shows that don't matter anyway.. like DBZ, One Piece etc.. but no one cares about them anyway![]()
Nor I, and no, it's not an uncommon practice is it? >.o You'd think they would spend the money to hire better actors, I could probably do a better dub job myself =P
The thing is that a LOT of those shows I loved when I saw them, so I can not help but feel somehow "played" by the companies that did them. How much was I missing in thse shows I loved? Why was I not allowed to see them in their propper versions? Who made this decision for me? etc.
Yeah, I can understand that, I can't help but feel a like I was being insincere when I said I liked certain shows when I hear something like that o_o
Fortunately most of these shows are now available on DVD in their original format.. so as soon as finances allow, I will be buying them so I can enjoy them in thier "pure" form.
Yeah, that's always nice ^_^ DVD in a sense has opened the way to another culture =)
