No doubt the new series will appear on Philippine television, but it's anyone's guess whether it will be dubbed into Tagalog, or even what channel it will be on. No doubt it will be shown at some point though. Astroboy is historically a major title in Anime and they've already shown one of the older series of it (the 80s series I presume, in English).

I don't know if that's old info for you. I found it interesting anyway! I'm in Australia and it seems we get less variety of anime that the Philippines.

yeah, it's been shown here in the Philippines late 80's, followed it closely when i was a kid. one of my favorite shows then, it was dubbed in english.
the recent dubbing into Tagalog of many anime series shown here like Yuyu Hakusho and Slam Dunk put anime closer to the Filipino audience. many twenty and thirty-somethings here practically grew up with big robot cartoons like Voltes V and of course the 'little big one', Astroboy.
As I just finished saying in the other topic, I hate when they forbid remote linking! But I can see why they do it. B)
Yes, I am from the USA. When Yesterdayland was up, I could not find Astroboy's color remake anywhere. I do not think it even aired here. So, if this contest was local to the US, I can see why Atom might not have taken the top spot. Only overthehillers such as I remember him from the B&W series.
