I keep forgetting ther are people who haven't seen this yet.... anyways...
Hi folks.
Last month I saw the 3rd-last episode of the new series of Astro Boy. In this episode Astro sucessfully negotiated with the Blue Knight , stopping the War on Humanity.
Almost immediately afterwards, the character called Lamp fires what appears to be a large thermonuclear missle at the Robotonia station which was heading up to outer space. Astro quickly deflected the missle out of the way but was unable to clear the missle himself when it detonated.
The suddenness of the explosion shock and reaction of the characters reminded me of what happened 19 years ago today, when schoolchildren across the US were watching a live television feed of schoolteacher Christa McAuliffe traveling into space aboard Challenger. Just as sudden and tragic.
I was meaning to mention this connection I had ever since I saw the episode. Maybe for anyone who wasn't around at the time (I was 8 but I only learned about it after school).

That is really sad.
Yeah. I mean you see on the news "It was 19 years ago today..." "...a memorial service will be held..." yada yada, but I think that not many people realise that lots of little kids were watching! Classes were cancelled so everyone could watch.
Ah well, enough of this depressing stuff.

Cheer up Jarvic, That's not the last episode to the new series. There were two more, episodes 49 and 50, and Astro was repaired, but there were still some more sad stuff in store for our hero, like learning the sad truth about his creation and rejection by Dr. Tenma. But the series ends happily, with Astro beaming a smile.

Done. I couldn't edit the thread title but I was able to add a spoiler space.
If you ask kindly an administrator he/she will do it

A while ago I managed to have an error in a title changed by sending a private message to Mark (you have the user reference in the list of administrators).
The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.

Can we add "[spoiler warning]" to this thread title?
