Astro Boy Episode Favorites

I found a new episode that I like: "Time Hunters". Not because I found the plot that wonderful, but because there were a lot of humoristic lines in it! I don't know if it was as much funny in English though... I mean I had a huge surprise the other day when I watched "Uran Falls in Love" in French: the ending was soooooooooooooooo much more cute in French, so I really don't know which effect the language had.

Yeah, I too remember the french version's ending of that ep.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's about what they said:

Uran ( to Astro): "In fact your eyes are much more beatiful than Zeus'/Apollo's."

Astro: "Thank you."

Uran: "At least close."

*both giggling*



Compared to the english version:

Uran: "Even if you come back as that funny looking robot I still want to be your friend."

Astro: "Awwwwwwww."

I also find the french ending funnier, nevertheless the english one is very cute.

2 from the 60s had that same basic subject.

Yes, that's close to it. I really like the knowing tone between Astro and Uran. That's funny... and kind of moving too. The 80 Astro sounds more mature in French, not only because of his voice but sometimes because of the slight differences in the lines. Sometimes I like it better, sometimes the English version is funnier ("Go Astro! Go Zeus!" is a lot better than "Both of you, stop!!!").

And since this is a thread about the 2003 series, I'll add that I found the cast and dubbing GREAT in French!

2 from the 60s had that same basic subject.

Yeah, the french dub of the new series is great B) . Far better done than the english one IMO.
