I don't want to appear rude, But that box set sound a tad sus to me. 52 episodes on 5 dvds? Is that even possible?

If you insist on collecting this infinately inferior version of Astroboy, I strongly suggest you collect it in a much better format. Click Over to FBO (an Australian online store) and take a look @ how the DVDs should be. Volumes 1-12 are available individually, 16x9 enhanced widescreen versions.

Also note the entire 80's astro set (english) is available individually over 10 DVDs. There may also be the Limided edition Collectors tin available if they are not yet sold out.

Also note Collertors Box Set 01 of the 60's Series (english) is listed as well. Hopefully Collectors Box Set 2 will be available son.

While U R checking out what DVDs SHOULD be like, take a look @ the Collectors box set of Kimba the White Lion (English).

I prefer the newer version of Astro Boy. Sorry.

But the release he was talking about in the first part of his message was of the newer version. Same dubding, but widescreen! B)

Not only that, but I am guessing also significantly better picure and autio quality, due to the fact that they are not compressed onto only 5 DVDs. Sheesh. 52 episodes on 5DVDs?? Yes, the price is higher, but this is a perfect example of "you get what you pay for". Honestly, I would go so far as to say I have seen Illegal Bootleg copies that are better made and packaged than the version you are considering.

If you are an astroboy fan (even if it IS the poor 2003 version, and the horrid english dub of it) then I, and possibly most Fans on this board, would STRONGLY RECOMMEND you see the show in its best possible format. That format is the Australian per volume release.

No one should settle for second rate, poorly treated Astro.
The Astro 2003 you need is this:
Astro Boy 2003 Volume 01
Astro Boy 2003 Volume 02
Astro Boy 2003 Volume 03
Astro Boy 2003 Volume 04
Astro Boy 2003 Volume 05
Astro Boy 2003 Volume 06
Astro Boy 2003 Volume 07
Astro Boy 2003 Volume 08
Astro Boy 2003 Volume 09
Astro Boy 2003 Volume 10
Astro Boy 2003 Volume 11
Astro Boy 2003 Volume 12
three and a half years.. for what?
