How did the original Astroboy end?
And how did the Manga get tied up?
Does the Astroboy "story" have a finnally?
The new series sucked @ss. <_<
Original (80's) Astro the one I grew up with was awesome.

There were several different publications in which the manga were published; however, Shonen had the lion's share of them.
Shonen's 65th & final Astroboy story had the hero retired to a display case in the Robot Museum. A young man broke open the case, activated him, and begged him to protect himself and his girlfriend. Then the story focuses on his retelling of their childhood.
I will say only this much more: Atom was not the main character, and he seemingly was destroyed while defending the two. It is an interesting and sad story.
Shonen: 65
Title: Last Day of Astro Boy, The
Dark Horse Title: End of Astro Boy, The (edit: I had accidentally switched these titles, noe they are correct)
First publication date: 07/1970
Dark Horse Volume: 22
DH page: 165
While this ended the stories in that publication, Atom lived on in others. Now that you metion it, I have never thought to find any overall story that developed over the series' span. I will check into this.
As far as the Tezuka site indicates, the very last of Atom's comic adventures was
Publication: Monthly Shonen Jump
Dark Horse title: Silver Tower
Title: Silver Tower, The
Date: 04/1976
DH vol: 23
page: 157
However, about 15 additional stories appeared in Second Grade student <Study Magazine>.' the fisrt was Atom's 101th adventure.
Pub: Second Grade student <Study Magazine>
DH title: Robot Disposer, The
Tezuka World title: --Story Title not listed--
Date: 09/1980
vol: 23
page: 7
This is the manga story in which the evil machine that appeared in the 1980s series 1st ep debuted. Atom's physical appearance was also altered to make him more appealing to younger readers. :wahah:
New versions of the Atlas and Franken stories also appeared, making Atlas a little boy and Franken more goofy than frightening. These were all very short stories, none more than ten pages in volume 23. However, as Tezuka himself noted, some stories were edited to shorten them. We may never see the unedited versions.
