About gestures, it can vary so much as to cause confusion. For example, in Greece, nodding the head upward means "no". People from other countries will usually mix with "yes". Even worse: the diver's ok signal is obscene in Greece
The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.

I'd say you're reading into it a bit too much :P

Look, I can do it to...

OMG!!! DID YOU GUYS EVER NOTICE HOW MUCH ASTRO'S HAIR LOOKS LIKE DEVILS HORNS??? AND HIS COLOURS, BLACK & RED??? I THINK OSAMU TEZUKA PROBABLY SOLD HIS SOUL TO THE DEVIL & THAT'S WHY HE'S SUCH A GOOD ARTIST!!!

Ha ha, sorry, I don't mean to make fun, in all fairness, it DOES look kinda like a pentagram, but I'd stake my 60's box sets that it's merely a coincidence.

At first I thought you were talking of diving as in "plongeon", not "plongée"!

I didn't see anything special in the diving's ok signal.

The diver's ok signal is the ring formed by the thumb and the index, meaning that all is ok.

I don't know what that means in France, but here it means "perfect" and nothing obscene. ;)

It means the same here, but in Greece, you might run into troubles if you do this gesture to someone ;)
