anyone else notice this?
About gestures, it can vary so much as to cause confusion. For example, in Greece, nodding the head upward means "no". People from other countries will usually mix with "yes". Even worse: the diver's ok signal is obscene in Greece
The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.

At first I thought you were talking of diving as in "plongeon", not "plongée"!
I didn't see anything special in the diving's ok signal.

ah...apparently if you do that (the thumb/index finger circle) gesture in south america,its the equivilent of sticking your middle finger up at someone.
