I sampled the talking in a techno song years ago so I had it memorised. I remembered Alvin's speech had a lot of talking with no background movement, just what I needed. His hand gestures happened to work well into it, and I knew I could replace the Mechanic Land map with anything for a joke. I had to edit it a lot. There are a few sections where the footage is running backwards.
Originally I wanted Theodore to say "Finish what?" but Mindy has the only good talking footage. I think it turned out funnier with Mindy.

Still.... That story line from Campbel, Who Goes There? is a science fiction novelette by John W. Campbell, Jr. under the pen name Don A. Stuart, published August 1938 in Astounding Stories. was ripped off from H.P.Lovecraft.

I only knew that film as The Thing. & when TCM listed The Thing from another world, I was eager to see it. How disappointed I was to learn that the two were one.

In reference to Carpenter's version, I thought the part where the Thing munches the guy's arms, then once decapitated, sprouts legs & scurries away was just about the funniest thing I had ever seen. Totally unexpected, even funnier than the remake of the Blob, because we anticipated the victims' demise. Even funnier than Shocker, when the chair grew eyes & arms. Just plain hilarious.

The video was pasted in frame by frame. The audio was adjusted slightly where the gaps were too long. It was fairly easy because the frame rate is 25 fps, so I set my audio programme to mark every 0.04 seconds. As long as Alvin's mouth was open during the talking, it looked fine.
