For you people who bought the Korean set, from which store did you buy it? Any other information about the release of the episodes after #24? [/b]

In case you missed it, Atoman has at least 1 set of this Korean version. The Peter Pan episode is not present: <!--QuoteBegin--Atoman

Hi Dr. Frag,

I have the Korean box set 2. It's not Season 2 like the add says. It's just episodes 13(the Birth of Uran) through 24(the Teddy Bear episode). No. 20(The Eternal Boy) was skipped, like in the states. Probably due to expensive Disney royalties.

I noticed that the site you linked to has some more false advertising, saying that it's the 60's Billie Lou Watt dub. It's not the 60's series folks, it's the current color version. Don't let it mislead you.

Now for the good news. It's not a bootleg, it's widescreen, in stereo and has Japanese audio with English subs. Only problem is, it's a region 3 dvd, which means you'll need a region free dvd player if outside Asia. I have one. It's worth it. You can then buy all the real Tezuka dvds with no American tampering.

Oops, yes, thanks, I missed it... But this is the only edit so far, right? All the other episodes are fully complete, if I understood?

That would make episode #20 very expensive if the only way to get it is from Japan, so it might still be an acceptable compromise! :) In fact, it might be less expensive to just buy a Korean box and separately import the missing DVD from Japan if it's really important for the person.

I like JUST JUST went out and bought, and I thought I'd come here to brag it up... but then I saw this topic, so I'm like "Someone else beat me too it, oh well, mine as well throw in my 2 cents" So I heard the first post, and it's a huge dissapointment!! I'm beginning to think this was a waste of money.. Mine has the 50 episodes on 5 DVDs.. I never did get to watch the whole thing on TV, so it won't be THAT big of a dissapoinment, it'll still be new to me.

It's more a demonstration of someone drawing Astroboy than a guide on how to do it. They skipped some of the drawing, such as Astro's hairline and eye-height guideline. There are many things that need to be watched for, such as the size and shape of Astro's sideburns, and nuances of size and perspective (ie. don't draw him crosseyed like the Dragonball characters). Let's Draw Manga: Astroboy is a much better guide if you want to learn the techniques.

Image
First draw a circle, then you add one cheek.

Image
Draw a straight line from the cheek and add the ear.

Image
In the middle spot you draw his nose.

Image
This is his hairline, and later you add the two cowlicks.

Image
His eyes ... and you have the basic outline of the character.

Image
He only has five eyelashes. Add the pupils and the twinkles in his eyes.

Image
And there you have it.

Aaaaaah, that good old post! :) I bumped it so hopefully it would show up in the search engine now.

I know, but that is what were were referring to in this message. ;) Either DrFrag will repost them or else I will do so. :) Just be patient. ;)
