Surely someone here can help

Hi,

New here, but a longtime astro fan from my childhood. Enjoying picking up bits of info from various threads, but I have a bit of info maybe someone can enlighten me on...

The Robot Vikings theme. I know its a piece of famous classical music.. but whats it called???? Anyone???

I might be wrong, but I think the musical piece played during Dog Astro's 'Matador'-scene featuring the vikings metamorphosed into a centipede originates from one of Gioacchino Rossini's works. :unsure:

It is from Carmen, no I do not know who composed it.

BTW, there were quite a few other classical pieces that also were featured in the series. :astro:

So all the music we hear in the 80s series were nerver like altered, meaning like Osamu picked those classical pieces and those other songs? Or did America change the music?

I can recall only 1 change:

Episode 1 as our hero opens his eyes:

Japanese: R. Strauss' Also Sprach Zarathustra (Thus Spake Zarathustra)

English: I cannot remember. I will research.
