Hi all. First of all great website, Astro Boy is a classic! I have been renting the madman Astroboy DVD's but in volume 10, Episode 48 "Uran falls in love" in the scene where the aeroplane is and the boss/owner of Zeus, the robot Uran falls in love with, for a brief instant there is a candle on his head when he takes off his mask...what is this, a glitch in animation of a prank of some sort? Hardly makes watching Astroboy any worse but it is odd.

This is not a mistake. I believe it's a trademark of this character, that's why his name is Torch (or Lamp, in some versions, I believe). There are more knowledgeble persons than I am on this forum, so you should have a much better answer soon.
There are tons of little gags in that version of Astroboy. We've put some of them in the random observations thread.
I remember the first time I saw this, I thought it might have been a way to avoid being affected by the gas or something. It's weird that it can be seen for such a brief moment too.
What's worse is how the background suddenly dissapear as Astro puts the gun around Torch just a minute later!
And I hadn't even noticed until DrFrag said it somewhere in this thread.
