I knew of this series for some time, but this is the first I have seen of the actual contents. Thanks for sharing, but please do not discourage others from buying the books by posting too many scans.

Thanks for alerting me to the existance of these "edu-manga"! I was able to get all 5 at a very low price on e-bay and only recently received them! I just started reading the first in the series ("Helen Keller") and find that they are most interesting! The artwork is also very interesting! Thank you again!

Hi there,

dito many thanks for alerting me to these. I just picked them all up on ebay as well for a very decent price and am really looking forward to start reading. Here's the link if anyone else is interested.

Apologizes for the not so creative creative user name. What can I say, I was tired. :-)

Thanks for the info, & welcome to the forum, Astro boy. I just bought 1 of the 5 remaining sets; although I am a bit skeptical about the legitimacy of this item because it is just too inexpensive to believe.

Thanks for the welcome, they are the real deal for sure, as far as I can see at least.

I just received my copies last week. I only glanced over them, but it seems that Astroboy characters appear only in the first few pages, as Dr. O introduces the stories while Atom and Uran merely ask a few questions.

Yes, Astro Boy & Co. appear only to introduce the biography of each main character and ask questions! Still it's nice to see Astro Boy & Co. even if this is a very babified version of Astro Boy, but of course Tezuka did say the younger he made Atom the more popular he became! So I guess this version must be very popular! All in all I think using Astro Boy & friends in this manner is a splendid idea and after now reading my fourth edu-manga I can see the enormous educational potential these edu-manga have! Also it is a nice way to introduce Astro Boy and the gang to the uninitiated!

Mister Tezuka was ahead of his time when he proposed the use of Manga in grade schools as a tool of education.

Another idea we in America never capitalize on.
