They're all just a bunch of machines well under human control. After all we made them, so we can destroy them. This KEHL is a waste of time and energy on needless fears. Even this Astro one just has to pretend to buddy up to him then rip out his circuits when he opens his chest compartment.

False. Although I agree that this KEHL thing doesn't stand, a creation can turn against its creator. Frankenstein is an example, but you also have the theory of the technological singularity, which may or may not destroy humanity.
The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.
