Original Japanese (?) name for Atom's creator?

I don't know if the original manga gave Atom's creator a Japanese name, but thought here would be the place to ask. I'm doing a personal fannish history of robots leading to the creation of Atom but know very little about the source material before the animated series.

OOps. A quick wikkipedia search found it, so sorry to bother. Once I get the history together, I'll post it here if you-all are interested. Among other things, it connects Boilerplate to WWII Japanese giant robots and then to Atom. Very silly.
