I have both a hardware and software firewall. I find it odd that "MIRC... acts as a hole through your security." I would not see any advantage to a firewall if any application could circumvent its protection. If one must disable or create a rule allowing unrestricted access for that app through the firewall, that is a bit different.

ok... umm obviously some people dont know very much about mIRC or computers...
I dont mean to say that anyone is stupid or lame, but all the things you are accusing mIRC of, can happen to any system even through browsing or using any chat client... and about the firewall hole thing... thats not true at all :wacko:

if you have norton and or, Mcafee... or any firewall protection with the port 59 blocked then no one can access your pc, or connection running mIRC.
The main thing with any program is be cautious with who you trust, and only accept files from people you know and everything should be A OK., and no need searching for tapes or anyother misc... and your whole rant and rave about 666, you should look in the Bible (paul's letters) and you will find out the true meaning of 666, its actually a persons name in Hebrew... but I'll let you do the reading, sounds like you could use it

Second I never mentioned the bible.... I only speak of spiritual things to enlightened people....
THIRD YOU ARE UTTERLY WRONG.... 666 in cyberspace has nothing to do with the bible or the hebrews. 666 is the call sign of a gang of cyber hackers and viral vandals.... The ADL (anti defamation league, a jewish organization) say's it is the symbol or call sign or signature of a neo nazi front group.
I warned those that might have little knowledge of computers about the 666 cyber ops.... Rule of thumb... Never trust anything that has 666 on it because there are hackers that call themselves the 666. And these ARE cyber Vandals.... Plain and simple...
