I know!!! It's the same for me... But you all seem to be better in your secondary language than me... You surely saw that I make some errors in my messages... :) But I'm improving...

The french closing credit would be like that in english :
If one day Astro would come to us,
Generous, always there when we need.
If the Truth triumphed over the Falsehood,
How the world would be beautiful!

If Astro could be always there,
There would be no more villans.
The futur would be enthralling,
In the kingdom of the children.

Astro made us dream.
One day all could happens.
For that he deserves our cheers.

He opened his heart to us, even if it's a robot.
We all thank you Astro.

The Japanese is something like:

Ok, I concede that those are the lyrics translated into English by way of Chinese, But, I do not think they are very accurate to the original Japanese.

Surely not! I agree...

The same thing for the french lyrics... : it's not accurate to the original french.

It's impossible to translate without ruining the lyrics. Example: We lost all the rhymes when we translate...

I can't remember if I got the Japanese translation from the DVD or Babelfish. Either way it hasn't come out perfectly, but you can get the gist of it. All the languages have different translations, the German one too (which I can't translate).

Louis'74, I didn't know that some swiss speak english... I thought that most of the people in Switzerland speak french or Dutch...   :) [/b]

Actually the common language here is a special dialect called 'swiss-german', along with other languages like french and italian.

As far as my english concerns: it's not at its best, but I try... ;)

:) I translate it for you:
Here comes Astro Boy, faster than the light
Here comes Astro Boy, the scoundrels never win
Here comes Astro Boy, today he's flying only for you
Here comes Astro Boy!

His eyes are like lightnings - see all everywhere
Find every villain on earth and in space
He's fighting with a lot of power, he's stronger than you believe
That's Astro Boy - Here comes Astro Boy

...Like a knife in the heart of justice
He is with his great big powers, from where you'll ever call him
He's coming like a rocket almost like out of the nothingness
That's Astro Boy - Here comes Astro Boy

(repeatig first verse)

I don't like the german version that much. The music is far too much orientated in Techno-style, and there are too many repeats in the first and last verses IMO.
The line Here comes Astro Boy would come over better when it would be sung only once in the first verse, rather than four times.
Now like this it seems they couldn't think of anything else ;) .

Nevertheless an interesting version, and a cute singing voice (to say somethin' positive).

So what is your first language Louis'74... This special dialect called 'swiss-german'?

No problem with that....
Just curious :) ;)

Yes, it's swiss-german. B) I find it cool, it's like a secret language sometimes, hard to understand and to learn for foreign people. But once you learned it, it's lots of fun :) .

Thanks for the translation! I love the German intro myself, it sounds so upbeat and energetic and happy. :D

After all, I just realize that the french version of the introduction I found wasn't the one I watched when I was young. It was the france version...

Thanks to anapan's ftp, I found the one I watched when I was young.
It's the file: "Astro le petit robot - Début (Qc).ram"

It sounds really like the original japanese version.

This post is dedicated to fafner, snorkyller and to all other french speaking people.

In november last year I wrote an email to 4 french TV stations with the request for an 80's
Astroboy re-run.
My request and 3 replies are posted below:

Reply TF1:

Reply TV5:

Reply FR2:

Reply TSR: None! ( #%@&ç&$£§ )

Though a half year went by since, still there is no sign from any of those TV stations to comply with my wish  .

Thank you so much for your FTP site, Anapan :) .
