I like icecream.
Ice cream is good....

But these guys are EVIL... That's why Astro smote them. Thank God.

I take it that none of you guys were around in the 60's.
I was, and take it from me, despite my extreme youthfulness, I watched more upheaval [Civil rights protests, war protests, riots, MLK and RFK tragedies, all on TV news] during that decade than anybody born since. That's why I loved to see Astro Boy so much, It told me that the future is coming and that it was good. Of course that was an very overly optimistic view that was disproved by reality, but that is another subject.
The 60's shows had a lot of symbolism, but that symbolism wasn't picked up by my childish mind. Now when I see some of them, I can pick up on what Tezuka was trying to imprint on us.
That episode's symbolism was quite apparent. It told me that the use of technology is in the mind of the person using it. If it is a good person, than the technology will be used for good, but if it is an evil person, then it will be used for evil, and sometimes even the evil user can be the victim of his own intentions when it turns on him.
