thats why i am sticking it into an install file because it is smaller and quicker to download... but the good thing is the file expands as you install the files.........
:wahah:
Do you really have a working installer? I didn't know a program could expand its own file with the Windows operating systems
Not to say it is impossible, but when a program is running, it is impossible to delete or alter the program's file. However I have never written a program that tries to alter its own file, maybe it works...

I just made a test by writing a program that tries to append some data at the end of its own file. The instruction that tries to open the file simply fails. I fear it simply can't work
An installer like Matty_kool speaks about rather should download data and put it in a designated folder. This should work without problems.
If someone wants to have a look to the "selfwrite" program, just tell me I can send you the source code. It works with Microsoft Visual Studio.

fafner, I think you are reading to much into what matty said, from what he says it could mean one of two things, creating an installation package for the eps like you do for applications (pointless) or creating a self extracting archive (ZIP, RAR etc) for the eps, this is also pointless, compressing already compressed data does almost nothing, the file at best would only be < 3% smaller and unless matty has somehow managed to defy the laws of data compression it will not download any quicker, furthermore having the files in an installation package will NOT "download onto your hard-drive faster" either. Now I leaving this thread, it's so stupid it makes my head hurt.

We had guessed, you are not the first one to forget to log in

However your link seems broken as it shows a "page not found error"
