I have a question...

What's the size of the model when you took the pic?
It looked huge in the picture shown. :P

Thank you, you're too kind.

How do you get new bricks?  Do you order them, or are they available in stores?

I get them from Bricklink. I think most of the stores run by buying lots of new sets wholesale, breaking them up, and selling the individual pieces. The stores make a profit, Bricklink takes a cut, and customers can get the exact pieces they need without having to spend on whole sets.

I wish I could have done that when I was young. I never had enough pieces!!!

What I've done so far has been on $5 a week. :) I started 11 months ago.

At the moment it's a metre tall, or about 3'3".

Thanks. I thought the Lego company might be kind enough to provide those pieces themselves. They really should!

What is the current weight? Brick count?

Does it have machine guns? Whenever I built anything, it had an intricate interior. For Atom, I would use the bulldozer track links as ammunition.

:D

I guess it would really complicate things if you made it with working parts, & impossible to make the jets. :P

Two Words. That's Pro!

If you were playing a video game. You would have massacred it!

Good work! I would SO buy that off you if you were selling it. (When it's done that is :P )

I had thought the exact same thing!!!

DrFrag, I think you'd have a lot of success if you tried to sell it on eBay! :D

Lego do sell bulk bricks, but they're way more expensive and I would have to import them. There's two big Bricklink stores close to where I live (one of them even personally delivers for free B) ).

I don't know what the current weight is, but when it's done it should be around 15,000 bricks and weigh 35kg. I've bought about half the bricks but there's a lot I haven't used yet. I would guess there's 4000-5000 in the pictures above. The boots took around 1100 each. It's all hollow, in case you were wondering.

The inside of his chest is about as complex as I want to get. If I did machine guns, they would have to be concentric telescopic cylinders placed at an angle - I daresay that's impossible with Lego. I'm certainly no expert with Technic anyway.

I'm not licenced to sell Astroboy merchandise, but I'm sure I could sell a "large quantity of bricks" and throw in free instructions. :D

Are the pieces simply pressed together or did you use adhesive?

Would you also sell a little bit of patience?

(I know the time of the quote is wrong, but it looked like it's your turn to be in a parallel universe, DrFrag, as I can't quote your other message! ;) )
