Since Japan is in dark parts, I suppose that they represent the parts of the worlds where their staff would come from. Then it would mean that they have at least one member of each country of the African continent except one (sorry, too ignorant in geography to know which one), and most of the Eurasian continent. With other continents sparsely represented, that would mean easily at least 100 people in the staff, most of them from different countries.

It is not likely, as the audio is entirely Japanese.

Thanks, i wish they would translate the audio into english, be better than reruns of some of the shows they show. Wish they had kept Atomic Betty on and Juniper Lee too. They were intelligent girls and much better than some of those silly boys' cartoons.
They even had William Shatner do a voice on Atomic Betty.

Just watched the episode yesterday. Obviously they slightly mitigated the story's anime version compared to the manga, as Astro seems to act not as human hating here. Also, Bulbo's and his mother's fate takes a different turn too.

That scene was cute! Sure isn't quite a common thing when an anime artist gets disturbed by the character he's drawing.

The should've done the same 'behind the scenes' documentary for both the 1980's and 2003 version. Although the did make a documentary for the '03 series, it didn't turn out as humorous as the 60's one.

I agree; the behind the scenes parts were much better here. BTW, there are some clips as is the case here, that are appended to episodes, & some as extras. Episode 53 (disc 11 set 1) is a prime example. It is a recap of the 1st season with clips from 3 eps and behind the scenes etc. stitched together with a party. I think I made a thread, I will check.

When I received my boxed sets, I went through them in order, though I may have wanted to see certain episodes more than others. How are you dealing with the overwhelming 18 disc sets?

:w00t :O h, I so have to watch that! Thanks for the info.

I first was looking for particular episodes using Fred Schodt's guide in his 'Astroboy Essays' book, but I probably will end up watching them in order as well. While I'm already introduced to the 60's dubbed series via Youtube, it would be interesting to learn which scenes were cut from the american broadcast. I should be able to watch a few episodes this weekend; starting right from the beginning with episode #1 (as if I didn't knew Astro's history yet... ).
