Well, I hope Tezuka Productions Co., Ltd. won't get mad at me for posting a Astro Boy hobby of mine. I'm not going to make money off of it. Still this copyright crud is somewhat stressful. I agree with 1magus about posting pictures. I think it should be okay to use someones picture or even characters, ect. as long its not going to make a profit.

Well, I'm sure there are millions of people out there who have Astro Boy hobbies such as yours, so I think you're fine for the time being.

"Astro, you must exceed the limitations that humans cannot!
You must be go beyond nationality, ethnicity,
pilosophy, and religion,
starvation and poverty,
and war!
Exceed these limitations created by man!
You must fly high! Higher than any human has ever flown before!
To reach for the future that no human has been able to so far!"

If you want to be really technical, even fan art and fan fiction breaches copyright. On a practical level, the companies don't mind as long as you're not making money off it. My web site contains plenty of Astroboy pictures, but ultimately it does nothing but promote Astroboy. If I had full episodes for download then I'd probably be asked to take it down. If I were selling full episodes I'd probably get a legal threat.
I wouldn't worry too much. Even anime music videos don't seem to attract legal complaints (although most hosting sites won't permit you to store them).

Yeah, DrFrag is right.

I agree with Astro Forever, videos can be a problem. If you look on http://www.youtube.com you can find full episodes of some shows. Well, they aren't completely full..... They will submit episodes in parts, for example, it would say: Astro Boy Episode 1 part 1. Then to watch the rest you would have to watch Astro Boy Episode 1 part 2. Is this how they get away with submitting these videos? Also Wikipedia says that there might be copyrights, etc on some of the stuff on their website. Wikipedia wouldn't get in trouble though because the public can edit articles and add things to them, right?
i've watch all those video's on YouTube there's not just episode 1 on there but all 50 episodes of the 2003 astro boy... this guy called Luti put them on YouTube from his own Astro boy DVD Box set... but all the episodes are all mixed up but i know what order ther go in but the list is too long
http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=Luti look it will show what Luti has uploaded on YouTube
At first I thought his name was Lati...... I got worried thinking you guys would think that was me.

I have posted many images from various episodes, some threads contain two or even three dozen images from a single episode. I have since then thought that so many images from a single episode might be going too far, & have since then for the most part limited the number to under 20 or so. Yet, I have never had a single complaint, & do know of one site that did receive complaints for fan translations of manga.

While I would not intentionally do anything that might provoke such a response from Tezuka Co Etc, I also agree that the whole underlying purpose is to increase the popularity of Astroboy, hoping to encourage publishers to create more and better translations of the anime and manga of not only Astroboy, but the other Tezuka creations.
