100% computer doesn't mean no actor: there will certainly be people to create the correct movements. Today, 3D characters without motion capture still seem un-natural.

I hope this means that the previous genedy tartakovsky project is dead... Genedy's animations are totally awesome (esp samurai jack & clone wars) but his stuff is all style & no heart & Astro Boy is all about the heart!

I hope they go back to the original comics for inspiration instead of taking Astro further & further from his roots...

True, but there's a big difference between using motion capture & pasting real people onto 3d backgrounds etc.

I can't help it, but whenever I imagine Astro Boy as a live action/3D show I picture AI era Haley Joel Osmond floating around with a plastic hairpiece & animated flames coming out of his feet (shudder)!

Earlier on there had been talk of a CG-Live mix, like Roger Rabbit.

Anyway, hopfully they've learnt from the mistakes of the 2003 series regarding heart and content.
