"Several different Astro Boy movie projects are currently in various stages of production and pre-production. These include US and Japanese projects, Live Action, animated and CGI projects, one possibly directed by Genndy Tartakovsky, creator of the Powerpuff Girls and Dexter's Lab. Many of these recent projects have stalled, and Sony's US Astro Boy license has expired, so it is uncertain which of these, if any, will pan out."
Perhaps I ended up reading it on a different page instead, but I'm sure that's it. I don't exactly have the best memory.

I'm really not sure what you mean that is it the incorrect page. Is the link to the corpus page not working?
Or did you meant I should look for a different page? I'm pretty sure that was the only page that I had read about this.
Edit: The paragraph that I had read is around the very bottom.

Aw I'd love a rumor for a sequel to be true. There wasn't anything wrong with the movie (except for Stone lol) Imagi just released it at a bad time, they even admit that.
A new animated series would be cool too, would love the art to be like that in the Iphone game they're making, Astro looked really cool in that.
Now excuse me, I'm just gonna get lost in my daydream of a movie sequel...

Personally I don't see how a movie sequel would work out, but who knows. Personally I'd like the sequel to be an adaption of The Greatest Robot on Earth, or just introduce Uran for the least. Except I imagine it would be very different all the same. Tenma seemed to have accepted Astro at the end of the film, so he may have taken him back in, I don't know.
The thing is, the 2009 film did not do well at the box-office at all, in both America and Japan. That can really decrease the chances of a sequel. The only place it did do well was in Taiwan, which ironically Dragonball Evolution also did well there too.

Yes I have been looking again. I doubt there will be a sequel. I read that the director said an interview that they would do a few sequels if the movie did really good, but it didn't. Also Imagi supposedly lost a lot of money when the film was released and what really almost brought a tear to my eye is that it did really well in Taiwan. Dragonball evolution did very well there too which is sad. As I've said the movie wasn't that good in my opinion but it wasn't horrible or anything.
People were disliking it for the wrong reasons I noticed. Parents said that Toby's death was too violent which is one of the most retarded things I've ever heard. I've seen a lot of violent anime's and movies. I've also played very violent video games, but he got vaporized for christ's sake! It's not like he got decapitated, stabbed or shot. He was vaporized.
Someone also said that the fight scene with the peacekeeper was too violent. What the HELL is wrong with people? Some fans of the anime were nitpicking it because they slightly changed Astro's appearance. They succeed at adapting Astro for the movie I think. I don't think it was necessary to make him older but overall it didn't bother me and it still LOOKED like Astro boy and Freddie Highmore did a good job voicing him.
The problem with it was it was too short, the script wasn't that great, it had the WORST villain I've ever seen in a movie and the plot lacked originality. The whole city in the sky thing was also stupid and pointless in my opinion and it was interesting to see Astro have somewhat of a love interest.
Oh, how could I forget. Parents also nit picked it because Astro and Cora were "flirting" or something stupid like that. They barely had that much of a romance in the movie and they were just friends.
It might have done better if it was made in Japan. I think that was part of the problem was that it's a Western adaption. But there's my true opinion of the 2009 movie ladies and gentlemen.
