My birthday wish is two-fold -- that all his manga and anime be available - uncensored - in the world's major languages. It would be wonderful to have the Astro Boy corpus ready by 2013.
Second wish is for new, original Astro Boy anime and manga.
Thank you Dr. Tezuka, and I hope you are enjoying our forum!!![]()

"Happy Birthday to you...Happy Birthday to you...Happy Birthday, dear Otoosan . . . Happy Birthday to you!!
I can't believe I could have actually missed that all-important date. D'oh. Unbelievable!

My dad was born the same year (1928) -- his eyesight is failing, but he's still active as ever, and my husband turned 60 just a month ago. Very poignant, for I realize how young he was, and how active he still could have been.

Yuppers, I'm probably the oldest person here (or at least willing to be honest). I'm 57, so I beat out Jeffbert by a few years, but TRUST ME, chronological age does NOT mean you feel any different inside (most people think I'm about half my age). Your brain stays as young/open as you let yourself be.
One thing that is cool being my age -- I got to experience Astro Boy across that half-century. And as each technological advance came along, I would think back to when I was 10 and Astro Boy was on TV, and my brother and I would marvel that we'd be alive "in the year 2000!" We also thought we'd be OLD, but now I'm happy to report to all you guys -- ain't no big thing. Your hair changes color (or falls out), and some mornings I feel like I had major cheerleading practice the day before (but I didn't
). Everything else? Still rockin'
That's why it's really too bad it wasn't Osamu Tezuka's destiny to still be here. I'LL BET HE'D JOIN US HERE, just like some of the voice actors have!
Can you imagine how cool THAT would be?
"Hey Dr. Tezuka, what's up with the pointy hair and BUTT GUNS?"
"you WOULD ask that!"
"why'd you make me look like a flippin' ROOSTER?"
"Why'd you . . . oh nevermind!"
