Good news everyone.

I asked my mom if I would be allowed to use a computer mic since I'm 18 now. She said yes.

Problem is, we don't even know if we still even have a computer mic in the house. =P

I usually use my PC gaming headset for dubs on this. If you have a web cam lying around see if it has a built in microphone.

That's the thing. Our mic was a webcam thing, but we don't know if we still have it, or any other mic in the house.

By the way, is there a way to record one's voice without getting the computer's humming in it as well?

A simple mic is really cheap. With a wire, I don't think you would hear the humming. You would only have to put it close to your mouth when you speak and away from the unit.

Well it depends on the computer and the microphone. I believe you can get a microphone for not that much money. However, I wouldn't recommend really cheap ones that break easily and have a lot of noise. There are programs where you can remove background noise. For programs on audio I use Sony Vegas 9.0 which I also use for making YouTube videos.

I have two headsets that I do use for audio. They are expensive reason being that their main purpose is for gaming. The main headset that I use for these is my Plantronics headset which I use mainly for either audio for dubbing, game commentaries or game reviews. This headset is worth about 40-50$ but I could be wrong.

If not that headset then I use my Turtle beach Earforce PX21 headset. This I use for when I'm playing an online game like Call of Duty on my Playstation. However this headset I can also connect to an Xbox or my PC as well. It is a very good headset but this is mainly for gaming, and they are very comfortable. This headset is worth about 80$ so this I wouldn't recommend.

But since you are trying to use a microphone for dubbing, you don't really need anything this expensive. Try and find something simple that is good, reliable and something that you can afford. If you need any recommendations on audio programs let me know.

I have Sony Vegas 9, but I still hardly know how to use it. <_< You mind PMing me about it?

And while the headsets might seem nice, I'm quite bad when it comes to finding good headphones. Most headphones never fit my head, others feel too tight, some don't have good sound quality, some have too good of a sound quality. <_< Yeah, it's not that good...

I don't have any voice acting experience, and I hate burnt toasts :p

That would be perfect! A French Tenma would sound awesome actually ^______^

I haven't got any script for Tenma on the next spoof yet, but I'll contact you when it's in place! =3[/QUOTE]
You can send a short one so I can have a try. If you send me a private message during the week, don't worry if you don't get an answer as I probably won't login until the following week-end. But I will see your private message in my mailbox ;)

Now I need to find my mic...

*starts moving everything away the way Trashcan would look for a bone in the garbage*

... do I still have a mic? Wait, everything's under control, I will find one :p

I heard that the 2 best headphone brands out there are skullcandy and dre beats. I've been told that they sound extremely good and they fit very well.

Try looking for earphones with a mic on them. I have a mic on my laptop, but I use my earphones for recording since the mic is better on them. If you can't find a pair lying around the house, then you could buy a pair for $10 at the cheapest.
