I like the 80's series the best, because it was the first anime I watched when I was a little girl. I also like the animamtion, and I just feel happy when I watch it.

I'm afraid I'm always going to be partial to the version I grew up with - 1980, but I have to agree with you. I loved the Tenma arc throughout the 2003 series, I thought it was very powerful, more than the Atlas arc in the 1980 series, but too many other episodes completely lost me.

I've only watched the first episode of the 1960 series.

I personally like the 03 series best (Subbed. Hating the Dubbed lol). While I admit the '80 one was very very good, I like the 03 animation/appearance more. I also think Tobio's death was well-done in that one :3
Clothed Astro = cute little robot kid;
Naked Astro= Big damn hero.

I've never seen the 1960s series. A year ago I preferred the 2003 series. At the start of this year, I most liked the 1980s series. Now: ??? :whistling: :d oh: :lol:

Honestly, I love the art styles of the 1960s and 2003 series. I also really like the stories in the 1980s series (I know all series' basically have the same stories, but I like how they were executed in the 80s series).

If I had to pick one...I'd pick the manga. *is shot* I'm serious! *is shot again*

The 1980s series altogether was the best, and even though this is my opinion I behold it as fact (don't beat me up). Why? It stays true to the original mangas and Tezuka had a hand in making that series. Also, it's an obvious advancement of the 60s series, but with way better animation. The stories are gripping and powerfully emotional, and it really beats the 2003 series. In my opinion, the 2003 series, which I have on dvd, is a good addition with good animation and stylization, but the emotion isn't as powerful and it only attempts to reach out to the viewers, even though a number of episodes are good... but the 2003 series ironically lacks a lot of ACTION scenes, which the 80s series surprisingly makes up for in great ways (The 80s series is just all around awesome, especially with the atlas episodes in there, the atlas ones in the 2003 series were weak, mostly due to the poor voice acting for Atlas). One day I hope to reboot the 80s series once I become an animation director, lol, Lord willing.
