I don't think the prerequisite for functional Artificial Intelligence includes sexual organs, however, I'm sure A.I does replicate emotions otherwise experienced from the :heart: .

Due to Astro's suggested age, as AstroBoy03 responded, he is just a little boy, so I doubt it goes as far as a crush.
Makes sense to me. Now, in the movie where he's supposed to be thirteen on the other hand... :ninja:

Sorry to say that, but on number 22 of the Dark Horse manga edition, there are two what-if stories where :tezuka: plays with the idea of making Astro sensible to the s-word. One, written as a satire for a newspaper, deals with Ochanomizu trying to make Astro more "human", and as such have some new Instincts. At the end he is arrested by Inspector Tawashi while being in an illegal *ehem* flat crowded with young beautiful ladies who work on the oldest job ever.

And in another one, only two pages long and very humorous, like the other one, Astro sits on a bank and watches a young, beautiful lady. They fall in love at first sight and kiss passionately until they both short-circuit and blow away (she's a robot, too). In the last panel, it is revealed it was an experiment about how Astro would react to a love relationship. Ochanomizu states something like: "No, he isn't prepared for this kind of love".

So, though you're all right, the possibility is wide open.
OH MY GOD!! :w00t: I don't remember the first one. That's hysterical!!! I need to find this issue XD

Yes it's Dark Horse 22 and called "Astro II" - Elefun complied with a demand for a "more human" replacement for the original Astro who sacrificed himself saving the earth.

But becoming a "regular guy" completely RUINED Astro: In addition to becoming a womanizer, he become lazy, greedy/money-hungry, and thinks looking out for the greater good is "old fashioned." At the end, he's dragged off to jail and Elefun wishes the original Astro would return from the sun! It's very funny to read, and it was all done in jest if you read the forward in that edition of the manga.

Now, let's go for another aspect: Astro doesn't digest food. It just comes down his stomach completely intact, as told on 1967's "Stories of Astroboy".

Now that I think about it, I think I DO remember that now :lol: Considering that was technically a "fake" Astro and not the real one, I'm curious though what would happen if you put the more "humanized" feature into our Astro. He'd probably go emo. XD
Oh, and the part of Astro being a womanizer that they don't consider; he boy has 100,000 horsepower. Could a woman even SURVIVE THAT? o_O
But now I think we've talked about this disturbingly too long XD

This is true. It's in the 80s series as well. He takes the food out and then just zaps it with his lasers. I couldn't help but think "Gee, what a waste of food." ^^;

See, I think the most recent incarnation of Astro would be able to utilize food (leaving no waste) to supplement his energy supply. Think "Mr. Fusion" from Back to the Future"!
