Yes, the same Canadian company that re-dubbed and reedited Tezuka Prod./NTV's official English dub was also responsible for the French dub, but as I said before the English version created specifically for airing in Canada no longer exists, outside of what few episodes a few collectors have. The French dub survives because this was the version that made it to France (and I believe to other French speaking countries.) (Of course on this point I am only speculating as I only know that with a few changes the French Canadian dub is the same version shown in France. I believe YouTube shows the openings to the version that aired in the French speaking province of Canada and the version that aired in France.) I don't know if the French version is available on home video, but if it is like some one already pointed out viewing it will give you an idea of what the Canadian English dub was like. But then again as some one else pointed out the original Japanese version with English subtitles is streaming on Viki.

Okay! For those who are still interested in seeing what the Canadian dub of 1980s Astroboy was like, there still is a Canadian TV advertisement for Astroboy from 1988 on YouTube, that will give you an idea of how that show's English speaking cast sounded. Sorry! This seems to be all that is left of Canadian Astroboy outside of collector's hands!

Oh geez, I'd best reupload those...I used to have a few of the Canadian episodes, but I also happened to upload the Cartoon Network series "Time Squad" (fab show by the way) and then CN cropdusted my account. That's not to say I don't have all the files on my harddrive...!
It's 2:32 AM here, and it'd take eons to upload them, but tomorrow morning you'll be seeing them back on Youtube again. I had Astro Fights Aliens (saved from another user who was suspended), The Robot Circus, The Girl From Alsoar, and The Robots Nobody Wanted.
