Do they have real emotions? Or just simulations that react to what their program analyzes? Can they think for themselves? Can they decide they want to read a book, or ask their "owner" if they want to read a book?
The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.

Code: Select all
int main()
{
printf("I love you.\n");
return 0;
}
This is a program that writes "I love you." on the screen. Do you think that the program will really love you?

If you consider that it is too simple, I can write a program that will play a sound file that articulates "I love you."

Given enough time, I might as well write a program that waits for someone to speak before playing the sound file.

It is improbable that they might make an astro boy but in my belief it is possibe to create an astro boy, they would be able to create an electronic brain, he'd be able to have artificial intelligence too it would work like a human brain example: your brain takes images memories and when your brain is full it replaces with a new memory so thats why we tend to forget things. So his artificial brain would be made having a large memory unit like a computer but computers never lose whats on it, so Astro may or may not forget things.
