His face is so cute! I must say, though, having such poor quality makes it difficult to see or hear things properly. Oh, if only I had the money...!

The sound quality is unfortunately not much better in the actual DVDs. Right Stuf didn't have much to work with.

Actually most of the episodes are fairly decent. A few are VERY muffled, but all are understandable. Maybe someday someone will run the sound tracks though some good DSP processor and extract some slightly better sound. I understand that the Japanese episodes that were never seen in English weren't in any better shape.

That is so very much a shame. It's a good thing we take much better care to preserve such treasures nowadays.

It's not just that the sound is muffled; it's curiously a little on the quiet side, as well.
