"Astro Boy Tales" is my absolutely favorite Astro Boy story ever. I do not really wish for an animated version though, it's perfect as it is in manga form.

In 50 years time, I can imagine a couple new series surfacing, introducing even more new ideas inspired by Tezuka's original framework. Hopefully we'll see an ambitious anime movie too, and a feature-length one this time. The I-MAX feature seems slightly disappointing considering Astro's pedigree.

I like the "Astro boy tales" becuase its nice to see ok, where did this start? and how simply answering what i like to call the Who,the What,the When,the Where? the four W's of literature (to me anyway)

Ah, I see! Unfortunately, I have only read a little bit of the mangas! I've looked for the chapters title and some of these stories ring a bell anyway, but I don't have an opinion.

/i can tell you where you can find scans but you guys don't do that/ basically in the volumes 7 and 8, is when we find out more about what happened before Astro.What happened with Tobio and Hoshie and Tenma? and how it came to be that Tenma's a loner and Tobio now Astro? these answer the deeper facts about the story

Just a small correction, it starts in volume 6, before ending with volume 8.

The story was originally conceived as a direct sequel to the TV series, and moved through time to Astro's birth. However, Tezuka later edited the beginning to make it readable by anyone, even if they haven't watched the anime ending.

I think it'd be cool to have an anime series about the "tales" I mean they did the 03 series based on the "melinian race" or volumes 20 -22 (i can't pronounce nor spell) by can't they do one on the "tails"?

Would it be possible to have a continuous story from these, or would they have to be separate stories in each episode?

Well, this is what i believe but u guys might find it silly. Think about, in Japan they make robots. Soon the world will be man and robots as friends or we could say 'man kind'. So I believe that Astro Boy is goin to be REAL!

I really hope they make Astro Boy 2 or new series!
I will do anything for Astro Boy to come back to big screens! U guys agree with me?
