I think I screwed up my description of what I heard in that episode by accident. I apologize.

What I meant to say was that, starting at the 12:22 point in the episode, I started hearing a keyboard-heavy instrumental of the main theme. I think it ran for about 1:15-1:25.

If you move the RealPlayer time pointer to 12:22, that is where you'll start to hear it.[/b]

Okay, I checked using cybotron's file and it's not available indeed. I was off because of the opening credit, so I thought it was one of the two previous pieces.

I don't know how the music files on fafner's server were made, but my guess is they came from Madman's extras DVD. If the piece you are looking for is on it, it should be possible to create the file, but from memory, I don't think it was. But I'm not sure...

It's got quite a bit of energy to it, too! :D [/quote]
Indeed! :D It's total opposite would probably be "main2.mp3".

The files were generated from Madman's DVDs. I will have a look at which theme it is. I will also have to see how I can extract the audio channel, I forgot :P

Hi and welcome! :)

You can download it here: http://wotan.homelinux.com/pub/. It's in the "themes" folder. I checked the episode and I'm not sure which one you were talking about because I don't have the exact same file, but I'd guess you want action3.mp3. It's definitely one of the four "action" files.

According to what I hear, it is indeed action3.mp3 , and I did use Cybotron's stream to check it.

It is according to the timing our friend gave us in his first message, but not according to the details he gave us in his next post.

As the robot car starts acting crazy, we hear action2.mp3. Right after, when Astro goes after the car, it's action3.mp3. The one our friend wants starts right after action3.mp3, when Astro flies to save people. It's basically the opening credit tune with a different orchestration (if we can call a Casio keyboard an orchestration! :P ). I start hearing it a little bit before this:

Yes, I think I "see" what theme it is. More appropriately I "hear" what theme it is :P I don't think it is isolated somewhere in the DVDs, but if someone knows a place where it is isolated, I can easily extract the audio channel.
Maybe I will have a try at extracting the raw audio from the sequence in the episode, and see if I can remove the noise... Not now however, time to go to bed :P

As for finding a place where this theme would be isolated, it would probably be impossible. This is an action theme, and actions = noise.

Now that I think of it, another cool theme to have would be the opening tune in its karaoke version! I don't have enough room on my hard drive to do it at the moment though. I should buy an external hard drive!

And this is off topic, but I've just heard Frank Olivier's French ending tune for the first time. It's much more easier to understand the lyrics, but not as close to the Japanese voices.

If there are other non-isolated versions, it could help. Yes, action=noise, but that's not always the same noise, and that may allow to isolate the common parts.

Okay. Off the top of my head, I can think of a few scenes here and there in which we can hear this theme, so I'll check later tonight.

I have a recording of it, it goes goes for about 2 minutes. I think I had to do some audio work on it, because the first few seconds sound a bit out of place.

It's not available on any official release that I've found, I taped it off the original TV broadcasts. After scenes were edited for the English dub, the episode length was padded out with filler footage before the closing credits. The instrumental theme was played over the top. In the case of Astro's First Love, it ran for quite a while. The Manga, Siren and Madman releases edited this footage out.

Only problem is, I have nowhere to upload it to. It's 2mb.
